According the Law of November 1994, the offcial emblem of the Mexican Secretariat of Navy (Secretaría de Marina) is based on the National Arms, where the nopal, lake and stone were replaced by two crossed silver anchors; while the snake chages to silver also.
The whole is surrounded by the text "SECRETARIA DE MARINA ARMADA DE MEXICO" (Secretariat of Navy Armed of Mexico) in gold.

This version, without text, was used on the prior-Oct. 2000 Presidential ensign.
It it gold, buth the anchor and snake are silver.

    The only difference in this variant is the bl This emblem features the identification cards SEMAR's personnel, books, manuals, and the façade of the Secretariat of Navy headquarters.

    This version was to be appeared in the Naval Jack used before October 2000. It appears also in publication like magazines, books, or manuals, also appears in souvenirs.

    Emblem used on flags

    According the article 11 of the Decree issued on Oct. 19, 2000, the emblem shall be...

    "...the shield of the Armed of Mexico, which keeps the colors of the National Arms in the eagle and the garland..."

    Such an emblem shall be placed in the middle of the flag's white band covering 75% its width (Article 11 of the same Decree), but on the Presidential flag used for visiting ships and establishments it has different arragement.
